Summary

AI Beauty Makeover has no user accounts and no developer-operated servers. We do not collect, store, receive or have access to your data. Every saved makeover stays on your iPhone or iPad. The portrait and makeup reference you choose for a generation are sent directly to OpenAI, because that is where the image is created — and only after you have explicitly agreed to it on a screen that names OpenAI and lists what is sent. This page explains exactly what leaves your device, when, and how to stop it.

What We Collect

We collect nothing. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, no tracking and no third-party SDK of any kind in this app, and we, the developer, never receive any information about you or your use of the app.

The app does, with your permission and at your request, send the photographs you choose directly to one third party — OpenAI — because that is where the image is created. It never passes through us. See What Is Sent to OpenAI below for exactly what is sent, who receives it, and how your permission is asked for and withdrawn.

What Stays on Your Device

  • Every makeover you generate — the finished image, your portrait and the makeup reference — stored in the app’s private container and excluded from iCloud and device backups.
  • The date, selected makeup mode and any optional instruction you typed, stored alongside each look.
  • Your OpenAI API key, stored in the iOS Keychain with the “when unlocked, this device only” protection class, which means it is excluded from backups and never syncs to another device.
  • Your app preferences, such as image quality and how long to keep looks.

Deleting the app removes all of it permanently.

What Is Sent to OpenAI

When you tap Create My Makeover, the app sends the following directly from your device to OpenAI’s API (api.openai.com/v1/images/edits):

  • the portrait you selected;
  • the makeup reference you selected;
  • any instruction you typed, if you added one;
  • your OpenAI API key, to authorise the request.

Photographs are re-encoded before they are sent, which removes EXIF metadata including any location recorded by the camera. Your name, email address and contacts are never sent, because the app never asks for them. This is the only network request the app makes, apart from a check that your key is valid when you tap Test Connection.

This data goes to OpenAI, not to us. It is processed under your own OpenAI account and is subject to OpenAI’s privacy policy and API data usage policies, which you can read at https://openai.com/policies. As of writing, OpenAI states that data submitted through the API is not used to train its models by default.

Nothing is sent unless you request a makeover. Browsing the makeup Styles guide, taking the style quiz and looking through saved looks all work entirely offline.

Your permission

Nothing is sent to OpenAI without your explicit agreement. Before your first makeover, AI Beauty Makeover shows a screen that names OpenAI, lists exactly what will be sent — the four items above — and asks you to agree. If you decline, no image is transmitted and the rest of the app continues to work.

You can withdraw that agreement at any time in Settings › Privacy, using the “Send photos to OpenAI” switch. Turning it off immediately stops the app from sending anything; your saved looks, your preferences and your API key are untouched. Turning it back on asks for your agreement again, on the same screen, so permission is never granted without the disclosure.

Protection by OpenAI

OpenAI, L.L.C. is the only third party that ever receives data from this app. Under OpenAI’s API terms and API data usage policies, OpenAI commits to protections for data submitted through the API that are equal to or greater than the protections described in this policy: data submitted through the API is not used to train OpenAI’s models by default, and OpenAI applies its own security, retention and deletion controls to it. Those terms are published at https://openai.com/policies. No other third party — no analytics provider, no advertising network, no SDK — receives anything, because the app contains none.

Photos and Camera

The app never asks for access to your photo library. Choosing a picture uses Apple’s system photo picker, which runs outside the app and hands over only the single image you select — the app cannot see anything else in your library.

Camera access is requested only if you choose to take a photo. Add-only photo permission is requested only at the moment you choose to save a look to your Photos library. Generated looks are never saved there automatically.

How Long Looks Are Kept

By default, until you delete them. In Settings you can choose to keep looks for 7, 30 or 90 days and switch on automatic cleanup, which removes anything older once a day. You can also delete everything at once, or delete only the source photos and keep the results. Cleanup never touches your API key — removing that is a separate, clearly labelled action.

Photographs of Other People

AI Beauty Makeover is intended for use on your own photographs, or on photographs of people who have agreed to it. Generating altered images of someone without their consent is not a use this app supports. Requests may also be refused under OpenAI’s usage policies, and the app displays the refusal when one is returned.

What This App Cannot Promise

The image model regenerates your photograph rather than painting makeup pixels onto the original. The app instructs it to preserve your identity, facial structure, hair, pose, background and lighting while transferring only the makeup look, but this is guidance to an AI model, not a guarantee. Every result opens on a before-and-after comparison so you can judge the likeness yourself.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone. Generating images requires an OpenAI account, which OpenAI restricts by age.

Your Rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete. To remove locally stored content, use the delete-data controls in Settings or delete the app.

To withdraw your consent to photographs being sent to OpenAI, switch off “Send photos to OpenAI” in Settings › Privacy. This takes effect immediately and nothing further is transmitted. You can turn it back on at any time.

For data held by OpenAI under your account — including any request to access or delete it — contact OpenAI directly, since that data sits in your own OpenAI account and we have no access to it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
