Getting Started
Add a photo of yourself, add a photo of an outfit, and tap Dress Me Up. Choose whether you want the whole outfit or just one piece of it — the jacket, the trousers, the shoes — and add a note if you want something specific.
Generating looks runs on your own OpenAI account, so you need an API key:
- Go to platform.openai.com and sign in or create an account.
- Open API keys and create a new secret key.
- Add a payment method under Billing. A key without billing enabled will be rejected by OpenAI.
- Copy the key and paste it into the app when prompted, or under Settings > Add API Key.
Your key is stored in your iPhone’s Keychain and is only ever sent to OpenAI.
The Styles guide works without a key, an account or an internet connection.
What Does It Cost?
The app is free and has no subscription. Each look is a paid API call billed to you directly by OpenAI at their published rate — a few cents. Draft and Standard quality cost less than Best. You can set a spending limit on your OpenAI account.
Common Problems
“Key not accepted”
The key is wrong, incomplete or has been revoked. Create a new one and replace it in Settings.
“Out of credit”
Your OpenAI account has no remaining balance. Add funds on the OpenAI billing page.
“Key lacks access”
Your OpenAI account may need verification before it can use image generation. Check platform.openai.com.
“Too many requests”
You have hit a rate limit on your OpenAI account. Wait a moment and try again.
“Request declined”
OpenAI’s moderation refused the request. Photographs of other people, and very revealing clothing, are the usual causes.
The result doesn’t look like me
Image models regenerate rather than cut and paste, so the likeness can drift — most often when your face is small in the frame. Try a photo where you are closer to the camera, switch the image model under Settings > Generation, or use Try Again for a different result from the same two photos.
Nothing generates at all
Check Settings > Test Connection. It verifies your key without spending anything.
What the App Can and Cannot Do
Results are generated by an image model. The app instructs it to change only the clothing and to leave your face, hair, body, pose, background and lighting alone, and it is good at this — but it is an instruction, not a guarantee, and the model regenerates the whole picture rather than editing part of it. That is why every result opens on a before-and-after slider: you decide whether the person in the result is still you.
Please use this on your own photographs, or on people who have agreed to it.
Privacy
No account, no servers, no analytics. Your looks are stored on your device; the two photos you generate with are sent to OpenAI to create the image.
