1. Introduction

Welcome to Great Facts! This privacy policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: we do not collect any personal data.

2. Information We Collect

Great Facts does not collect, store, sell or share any personal or non-personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your saved facts, category choices, theme, font, quiz statistics and the fact-of-the-hour state are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers — we do not operate any.

3. Widgets and Apple Watch

The Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy widgets read data stored locally on your device (in an App Group shared between the app and its widgets). They refresh without an internet connection. Tapping a widget opens the fact in the app; no data is sent anywhere.

4. Great Facts Pro and Purchases

Great Facts Pro is an optional monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. All payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, email address or payment details. The app only asks Apple whether Pro is active on your Apple ID so it can unlock the Pro features.

5. iCloud Sync (Pro)

If you have Great Facts Pro and are signed in to iCloud, the list of facts you saved is synced between your devices using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. This data is stored by Apple in your personal iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy; we cannot access it.

6. Sharing Facts and Source Links

When you share a fact (as text or as an image), Great Facts uses your device's built-in share sheet. We do not receive the content you share. Pro facts include a link to a source (for example Wikipedia); opening it takes you to that website in your browser, which has its own privacy policy.

7. Data Sources

The free facts are drawn from MIT-licensed open datasets (randfacts by Connor Sample and animal-fun-facts-dataset by ekohrt). Pro facts are original, fact-checked writing with sources. All facts are bundled with the app and available offline.

8. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Great Facts is designed for curious minds of all ages.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Since we do not collect personal information, there is no personal data for us to access, correct or delete. All app data stays on your device and can be removed by deleting the app. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in Settings > your name > Subscriptions.

10. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

Any changes to this privacy policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.
