Summary

My Best Document Scanner (“the App”) turns your iPhone into a fast, private document scanner. Point, capture, clean, and export a sharp PDF you can share in seconds. Everything is processed and stored on your device. We do not require an account, we do not collect your data, there are no ads, and the App works completely offline.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not operate servers that collect your personal data. We do not collect, store, or sell:

  • Name, email, or contact details (unless you email us for support)
  • Scanned documents, photos, PDFs, or folder organization on our servers
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers
  • Payment information (the App is free)

In App Store Connect, the App Privacy “nutrition label” for this App is Data Not Collected.

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your iPhone (and iPad, if you use the App there):

  • Document scans and page images you capture or import
  • Cleanup filter choices (Enhanced, Grayscale, Black & White) applied to pages
  • Multi-page documents, page order, and pages you remove before saving
  • Document names, folders, and search-related organization you create
  • Exported PDFs you choose to save in the App library
  • App settings related to scanning and export preferences

This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share a PDF (for example via Mail, Messages, AirDrop, or Files) or back up your device through Apple’s iCloud or local backup services, in which case it is included in your device backup like any other on-device app data.

Camera and Photo Library

The App requests camera access when you tap “Scan Document” so it can capture pages with automatic edge detection and perspective correction. It may request photo library access when you tap “Import” to turn an existing photo into a document. Photos and scans used by the App are processed and stored locally on your device. We do not receive your camera feed or photo library contents.

On-Device Processing

Scanning, edge detection, image cleanup (whitening, sharpening, shadow reduction), page reordering, and PDF export all run on your device using Apple frameworks such as VisionKit, Core Image, and PDFKit. No third-party servers are involved in processing your documents.

Sharing and Export

When you export a PDF (Small, Medium, or Large) and use the system share sheet, you choose where that file goes. Sharing is handled by iOS. We do not intermediate, upload, or receive the files you share.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud services. We do not share your data with anyone.

Analytics and Tracking

We do not use analytics SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites. The App does not display advertisements.

Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your scans, documents, folders, and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the App or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App removes locally stored data from your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
